Chapter 1: Cleansing The Mind & Letting It All Go

Cleansing of negative vibes & nourishing the mind. It sounds so effortless when I put it like that. Boy! had I known how onerous these tasks were, I would've been diligent while choosing the path to tread on. A series of distasteful events drained me emotionally and turned me into a bitter, whiny, and depressed person. Anyway, I would like to tell you how I succeeded in overcoming those hurdles in lieu of the whats and hows of those past incidents.

No More Rushing

“Strange, what being forced to slow down could do to a person.”
-Nicholas Sparks, The Last Song

I no longer feel the urge to jot down the reviews of each book I read, nor have the strong desire to keep up a steady traffic to my blog. No, I've not abandoned my blog; rather, just slowing down the things.

Staying away from the blogosphere offered me a chance to silently observe the fellow bloggers, taught me one or two lessons and I chose to stick with a few options that suit me well.

Monthly Favorites- May 2017

 ♥ ♥ ♥ Hello, I'm back!!! ♥ ♥ ♥

I missed blogging so much- writing the book reviews, the bookish posts, weekly memes, the blog tours and also the bookish chats on Twitter. So, once again, I'm trying to make an attempt to start blogging regularly. Exams are finally over, and I'm anxiously looking forward to the next chapter of my life. Hoping for the best to happen.

I read only one book last month- YOU'RE THE ONE THAT I WANT by Giovanna Fletcher

Monthly Favorites - March 2017

The temperature is rising each day, seems like the Summer is awaiting at the doorstep impatiently for the Spring to be gone. Though it rained some days, it wasn't sufficient enough to cool down the earth. I'm trifle worried thinking of the days ahead, as the TV channels keep predicting a scorching Summer this year. April-May is the Summer or Pre-Monsoon season in my country, in case you're wondering why I ramble on about Summer here.

I'm planning on reading Summer themed books in the coming months, hopefully, one or two classics too. If you've any recommendation, please do share it in the comments section. I would appreciate it. At the same time, I'm quite unsure about finding enough time, now that I've got my exam schedule dates. I'm fretting already. On the bright side, I can blog regularly once my exams are finally over. I miss writing the drafts and small talks with the publishers. But that's the topic for an another post.

LOVE IN AN ENGLISH GARDEN by Victoria Connelly- A Book not to miss in this Spring

In her latest book- LOVE IN AN ENGLISH GARDEN, Victoria Connelly invites the readers to meet the family living at Orley court and to take a stroll through their enchanting English garden. I immensely enjoyed this book- it's incredibly soothing and relaxing. The Orley garden puts everyone at ease with its charm. Connelly's evocative writing assists in bringing the garden in its full beauty to the reader's mind. This book is the best spring read I have read so far, I assure you.

Monthly Favorites - February 2017

February marched in bearing a few surprises, which I enjoyed while it lasted. The remaining days, I'd been keeping myself busy with different tasks. I was taking care to find ample time to do each task in the list and surprisingly it worked out well. I read more books in February compared to last month, i.e; 6 books in total. Great, huh?

There were two certain books, which left a deep impression on me. I raved and kept thinking about those characters for days. I happily let them stay inside my mind for a while, you know what I mean.

In a nutshell - Part 1 (February 2017)

Hiya! I'm introducing a new feature called 'IN A NUTSHELL'. You can probably guess what it means. I just didn't want to write the title as Mini-Reviews, needed a unique & attractive heading and came up with this. Hope you guys agree with it. I've written lots of mini reviews in these past months and will be writing more in the coming months. All those reviews will be featured under the title 'IN A NUTSHELL' from now on.

An Excellent Start to the year 2017| Monthly Wrap-Up

January means a new beginning to me, it's the time to let bygones be bygones and start afresh. Resolutions were made again and I have become more resolved than ever to keep them anyhow. Decisions were taken on reading & blogging too- to read more backlist books, and blog only when I have ample time on my hands.

Reading Agatha Christie Books | Endless Night

After failing miserably at keeping up with the bookish challenges & resolutions, I was resolved to do only the GR Reading Challenge this year. However, I had to reconsider the decision, when the gusto for AC Books by the fellow Bookstagrammers started growing on me day by day. The discussions about her books and TV series lured me into their groups, and soon I too had to start reading AC books. So, I've decided to peruse a Agatha Christie book each month.

I decided to start by reading the books I already own. I read ENDLESS NIGHT in this month and will be reading more of Christie's works in the coming months. So, stay tuned for more news...

Top Ten 2016 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn't Get To (But TOTALLY plan to)

Around 100 of books were added to my TBR in 2016, and I couldn't get my hands on even half of them. Not because I didn't wish to, but they were either pricey or due to the lack of time to read them.

When the Reading Became Too Slow | Monthly-Wrapup

Never been a slow reader before, unless I was in a state of having a horrible reading slump; yet my reading was sluggish in the month of December. Even though not bustled as the holidays usually are, the days were busy enough with the family functions and some unplanned get-together to get into. I was feeling ecstatic whole day with all the fun, food, merriness and the excitement - still, the only thing I wanted to do after coming home was to crash into my bed and have a good sleep.

The other days were spent on ticking off things from the to-do list. The reading hours were replaced with tasks, that had to be done before 2016 was gone forever. And, three impromptu trips with the cousins and family in the last week of December sucked out the whole energy from me. Though I had carried books with me everywhere I went, no reading was done. In short,  I read only ONE book last month.
