Welcome to the charming seaside town of White Cliff Bay, where Christmas is magical and love is in the air…

Penny Meadows loves her home – a cosy cottage decorated with pretty twinkling fairy lights and stunning views over the town of White Cliff Bay. She also loves her job as an ice-carver, creating breathtaking sculptures. Yet her personal life seems frozen.

When Henry and daughter Daisy arrive at the cottage to rent the annex, Penny is determined to make them feel welcome. But while Daisy is friendly, Henry seems guarded.

As Penny gets to know Henry, she realises there is more to him than meets the eye. And the connection between them is too strong to ignore…

While the spirit of the season sprinkles its magic over the seaside town and preparations for the ice sculpting competition and Christmas eve ball are in full swing, can Penny melt the ice and allow love in her heart? And will this finally be the perfect Christmas she’s been dreaming of?

Christmas is not yet around the corner, but I feel all-thing-Christmassy right now, devouring this beautifully-written novel. My Twitter account was overflowing with Holly Martin's new book ' Christmas at Lilac Cottage ' gifs. I was immediately attracted to it, seeing the charming cover and the description and was chuffed to bits when I received an ARC from the Netgalley. Couldn't wait to sit down with it!

When Penny Meadows, a forlorn ice carver, decides to rent out the annex of her charming Lilac Cottage to Henry and Daisy Travis, she had no idea how her lonesome life was going to be changed. They bring love, warmth and happiness into her life and soon she finds herself completely falling for the most attractive man she has ever seen. Can the festive season gift her a life, she has longed for?

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, smiling and giggling throughout the story, it's simply beautiful! It is a love at first sight for Henry and Penny and it develops into a beautiful relationship over the course of time. Holly Martin has done a wonderful job at creating an impressive plotline with a flawless style and vivid descriptions. It grabbed my attention from the beginning, I couldn't put it down and did not want it to end, either. Henry is adorable, Penny is warm and kind and Daisy is lovely. Hard to believe that it is just a novel, because I was literally living in White Cliff Bay for the last few hours, enjoying their bonding together like any other White Cliff Bay resident and it's become extremely difficult to come out to the reality now.

This beauty has everything well balanced; humor, love, friendship and the warmth of Christmas. Yes, There are Fairy lights, Garlands, Snowflakes, Snow, Christmas Tree, Ginger House Bread, Christmas Baking, Candy Canes and even a Christmas Ball. A Christmas in September!

It is the first time reading Holly Martin's works and I have fallen in love with it and her adorable characters. I will definitely be checking out her other books too, especially ' Snowflakes on Silver Cove', which would be the second book in White Cliff Bay series, releasing in October 2015.

I agree, it's a perfect romance to curl up by the fire with. Highly Recommended if you are looking for a cuddly, cutesy, sugary, Christmassy romance novel.
